KROQ Dir. Rene Eram / Commercial

What would you do if you woke up to find that a filling in your mouth was broadcasting Polka music?

For KROQ we wanted to create the setting for a young kid living on his own for the first time. The Apartment I built recreated an Hollywood studio, inexpensive through lack of care. The beauty of older detailing, built in cabinets and thick moldings, painted a hundred times and then aged. Messy and layered with character, but also beautiful and warm, with enough shiny objects to create dramatic kicks in the late morning sunlight.

the action required many specific props most notably an oversize mouth and pliers to enable the camera to get a shot of the actor trying to pull his own tooth, as if the viewer were inside his mouth.
